#BerlinSounds: The Aim of Design… – Clean Bible Dirty Christ

Berlin is alive with music. We’ll introduce you to your next favourite record by your next favourite band. This week: The Aim of Design is to Define Space – Clean Bible Dirty Christ.

The band with the very cumbersome name used to be a rock group, with a soft spot for clubbing and a penchant for theory in their lyrics. Very ‘90s Berlin. After a 10-year hiatus they’re back, only to discover that the Berlin they represented is gone. And they react to this with their new EP; there’s less guitar, more techno, and lots of quotes and references to pop history. They’re releasing it via the Modeselektor label Monkeytown, after all. Sentimentalism rarely sounded this sharp-edged yet danceable.

Catch them live on Friday, October 18th, performing with Die Kerzen and Gewalt. Shows start at 8pm, presale €22.40 | SO36, Oranienstraße 190, Kreuzberg.
