Galerie Barbara Thumm will be closed for the winter holidays from 21 December 2024 to 16 January 2025. We wish you a peaceful holiday season and very much look forward to welcoming you back next year for the solo exhibition by Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven (*1951 in Antwerp, Belgium).

The exhibition, titled dudoute_toaster_absolu (AMVK 1981-2025), offers a retrospective of Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven’s extensive career. Spanning works from her early pieces in 1981 to her most recent creations from the past year, the show provides a comprehensive overview of her artistic journey.
The selection of works draws inspiration from a video titled A-X+B=12, created by Van Kerckhoven during the pandemic, for which she compiled some of her most notable pieces and brought them to life through animation. The selection is deliberately paradoxical—both random and intentional—serving as a metaphor for the eternal return and the cyclical nature of life.
