10 Years Robot Army
Ten years — that’s a long time for a party series that’s dedicated itself to a rather tangled and richly detailed interpretation of techno. But the party collective Robot Army made it. And on the 24th of August, they’ll celebrate reaching this milestone. Among the guests: residents Mack, Kriek and Herr Schneider. Guest DJ Mad Zach, on the other hand, has a slower, more trip-hop-y sound. What a party!
Address: Mensch Meier, Storkower Straße 121, Pankow | Saturday, August 24th, start 11pm
Directions: S-Bahn station Greifswalder Straße
Mensch Meier goes to court
And so the saga continues: after Mensch Meier was raided unexpectedly by police in March, the club has filed a lawsuit against Berlin’s customs office. According to their press release, the venue wants the courts to determine the legality and proportionality of the operation. Statements by the police and the club on how the operation unfolded contradict each other profoundly. The club claims that damage of €6,000 resulted from the forceful exercise.
Sad goodbye for Rummels Bucht
Popular summer spot Rummels Bucht has to vacate its eponymous location at Rummelsburg bay by the end of the year. In April, a land development plan was passed that did not incorporate the continuation of the cultural venue. But according to Groove mag, the owners of the club were surprised to receive their notice this year already. They want to continue the club at another location.
