Berlin is not Paris, London, or Milan. But that’s fine: Berlin has its own distinct style. Our favourite finds of the week are great sunglasses to keep us cool while we soak up those rays. Here comes the sun…glasses!

Art + spectacles

Alfred Macke’s ‘Walk Among Flowers’: the case for your glasses couldn’t get any more summery. Or how about a picture of the Nefertiti Bust? The original can be visited — for example on a rainy day — at the Neues Museum on Museum Island.
Address: Gift shop at the Alte Nationalgalerie, Bodestraße 1-3, Mitte | Tue-Sun 10am-6pm, cases from 14,50€
Directions: S- and U-Bahn station Friedrichstraße
New vintage

Lunettes is Berlin’s first and second address for never-worn original vintage sunglasses. Without much of a fuss, they just opened a third shop after the first on Torstraße 172, and the second on Dunckerstraße 18. Now they’re also available in the West, „next to Ku’damm“.
Address: Lunettes Selection, Bleibtreustraße 29/30, Charlottenburg | Tue-Sat 12pm-8pm, glasses between 169 and 299€
Directions: U-Bahn station Uhlandstraße
Raving glasses

Sunglasses are an integral part of Berlin, just like club culture. No wonder the very Berlin glasses label ic! berlin has been inspired by rave culture for their new ‘Reflection Collection’. The brand’s foundation coincided exactly with that point in history — when you left illegal clubs long after the sun came up.
Address: ic! berlin flagship store, Münzstraße 5, Mitte | Mon-Sat 10am-8pm, glasses between 305-325€
Directions: U-Bahn station Weinmeisterstraße
Kreuzberg kids

The label KreuzbergKinder is celebrating its Alexanderplatz shop’s first anniversary. The second collection from the Berlin-based glasses brand is in store now. It will be followed soon by an edition — with matching cases — developed in cooperation with illustration students from FH Münster.
Address: Rathausstraße 5, Mitte | Mon-Sat 11am-8pm, glasses between 130 and 160 €, first collection on sale for 100 €
Directions: S- and U-Bahn station Alexanderplatz
