A fresh start for Holzmarktstraße: things are stirring on the lot next to the popular ‘creative village’. After endless discussions, there are finally plans to build student housing and commercial units on the Eckwerk lot — but without the Holzmarkt cooperative being involved in the long-term development of the project. After all manner of legal disputes, the district wants to start a new project group. Ideally including one of the public housing associations. But the new buildings will not restrict activities at Holzmarkt — at least that’s the plan. The cooperative remains silent so far.
